Showing Up is an original contemporary painting exploring the tension of balancing career and motherhood. Inspired by the words "I constantly worry if I'm present enough with my son. And then I worry am I showing up for my colleagues too?", it reflects the constant movement between different roles and the invisible pressure to be present in all of them.

The story behind the painting

This painting modern motherhood and the moments in between - the emails, meetings and notifications that continue alongside school runs, homework and everything waiting at home.
