And We Do It All In Heels

I remember the first day it really hit me how much women carry through motherhood. 

It was week two of back to back presentations at work, and I was exhausted. 

After a 7am gym session and a full on day of conversing with customers, the thought of travelling home, cooking myself dinner, choosing tomorrow’s outfit and prepping for the next day of sessions felt like the biggest chore in that moment.

But then I heard the chatter in the background of needing to pick up the kids from after school club, looking after a sick child, needing to help with homework, fitting in a food shop at lunch time and it put it all into perspective. 

There was of course men as well as women having these conversations but as a woman myself all I could think about was managing all of that to do list, on top of the expectation to look good while trying to accept the changes in your body, of trying proving you can still do your job after a year off, of managing the craze of hormones postpartum (which can take over a year?!) or even working out what days you need to wash your hair to fit around it all AND… we do it all in heels. 

So this painting is for all the Mums out there, you’re doing amazing.
